Dance Recital News
We are so excited for our 26th annual dance recital!
The 2018 dance recital will be held on June 7th at Higley Center for Performing Arts in Gilbert. Performance is a special part of each child’s dance education and we highly encourage all dancers to participate in the wonderful end of year event.
The theme for this year’s recital is Pure Imagination. All classes participate with the exception of Turns & Leaps, Pre-Pointe/Pointe I, Performance, Stretch & Flexibility, PBT, Ballet Technique I and II, Jazz Technique and Tumbling. The ballet students will come together and present a magical ballet under the lights of the big stage. This year’s Ballet will be Pinocchio. Ballet students will be required to attend approximately 4 additional rehearsals in the spring. Further information regarding these rehearsals will be sent home after the first of the year. All other classes will perform a dance in their particular class style. In addition, all dancers will participate in an opening number and grand finale. These dances will be taught during their regular class time.
Auditons
Auditions for lead roles in the ballet and for dancers interested in performing a solo, duo or trio in the recital will be held on Saturday, December 9th starting at 3:30 p.m. This is a date change from the Parent/Student handbook to accommodate our performance in the Queen Creek Parade.
Recital Fee & Costume Costs
The recital fee of $50 per dancer is due November 15th. This secures your spot in the recital. A 50% costume deposit is due December 10th and the remaining balance will be due on Feb. 10th. We hope this lessens the burden of extra costs during the holiday season. The costume costs are listed below. These prices do not include tax. All fees will be charged to your account on the due dates.
Tiny Tots, Tiny Tots II, Tap/Jazz and Tap/Ballet Combo Classes, – $65 each (2 costumes
per class for combo classes)
All Mini & Junior Jazz, Tap and Hip-Hop Classes – $70 each
All Teen Jazz, Tap and Hip-Hop Classes – $80
All Ballet Classes (Mini, Junior and Teen) – $75-$100 each, depending on the class and
the theme.
Important Dates
December 9th – Auditions (see above) 3:30 pm at CID
April 30 – May 5 – Costume Week – at least one parent must attend class with their child this
week.
May 18-19 – Recital Picture Day
June 5 – Recital Rehearsal at the Studio
June 6 – Dress Rehearsal at Higley PAC
