First Steps - age 2

The perfect introduction to dance for your little one. This half-hour tap and ballet combination class will engage your toddler with songs, music, games and instruments while introducing them to the basics of tap and creative movement.

Tiny Tots - age 3

Our Tiny Tots classes are designed to allow your child to use their imagination and express themselves through movement and music, engaging your preschooler through songs, music, games, props and instruments. These classes focus on the basics of coordination and strength, while learning the classroom essentials.

Mini Stars Level

Our Mini Stars classes are designed to allow your child to use their imagination and express themselves through movement and music, engaging your preschooler through songs, music, games, props and instruments. These classes focus on the basics of coordination and strength, while enhancing gross motor skills (skipping, galloping, etc.), and introducing ballet basics (plié, tendu, sauté, feet and arm positions) and tap basics (shuffle combinations, paradiddles, traveling steps).

Super Stars Level

Our Super Stars classes introduces your child to the basics of Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip-Hop and Tumbling. The dance movements in these classes help develop coordination, rhythm, and imagination, and build on the basics, including right and left discrimination, counting music, and exploring rhythm through the use of the body. Teachers will encourage each child's recognition and memorization of basic dance steps in all disciplines. The individual instructions our dancers receive will give them the correct foundation and the "fun"damentals for their physical and mental development. This class uses fantasy and fun songs to encourage personality growth.

Graded Technique Classes

Ballet

Enjoyment of movement, expression, and sensitivity to music are combined with discipline in the study of ballet. It is an established technique with a scientific, anatomical approach to movement, teaching about the alignment and growth of the body.
Jazz is a form of dance that showcases a dancer's individual style and originality. Jazz is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns.
Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sound of one's tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. As such, it is also commonly considered to be a form of music.
Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States.
Lyrical is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance techniques.  Lyrical dance challenges choreographers and dancers to use motion to interpret music and express emotion.  A lyrical dancers' movements attempt to show the meaning of the music.
Musical Theatre is a jazz-based class filled with Broadway style dancing and music. Classes incorporate the style of dance one would typically see on a Broadway stage.

CID’s tumbling classes are designed to develop the individual strength, balance, coordination, flexibility and confidence of each child. Students will learn floor work integrating tumbling skills with dance movements.
Pointe class emphasizes strength while maintaining fluidity of movement. Pointe work is offered to students by teacher recommendation. Students must have a minimum of three years of ballet and be at least 11 years old to begin Pre-Pointe.
Our teen level classes are perfect for students new to dance or have had limited instruction. Our classes offer dancers a safe place to being studying dance in a class with other dancers their own age and ability level. We offer an encouraging learning environment to where students develop endurance and dedication while focusing on technique, self-expression, and performance.
Turns & Leaps classes will focus on the jazz technique of turns, leaps, jumps and progressions across the floor. Students will also work to increase flexibility, balance and core strength through across the floor and center combinations and drills.
