Pointe

POINTE (Pre, Beginning and Intermediate - ages 11+)

Pointe class emphasizes strength while maintaining fluidity of movement. Pointe work is offered to students by teacher recommendation. Students must have a minimum of three years of ballet and be at least 11 years old to begin Pre-Pointe. Students participating in Pointe classes must also be enrolled in at least one ballet class (2 is recommended).

Advancement is based on correct placement, skill mastery, and instructor recommendation-not by age-which means all classes have a variety of age levels. Students spend an average of two years at each level before mastering the skills to advance. Students receive annual skills tests. 

Dress Code:

Pink Tights, Black Leotard, Ballet Wrap Skirt (optional).  The teacher will recommend Pre-Pointe and Pointe Shoes and must approve the fitting of the shoe before the dancer can wear them in class.
